Marvel Comics has been creating iconic superheroes and spinning fantastic super-stories for more than 80 years. The company began in 1939 as Timely Comics, which introduced heroes like The Human Torch, Sub-Mariner, and Captain America. But in 1961, the publication of Fantastic Four #1 (by Stan “The Man” Lee and Jack “King” Kirby) ushered in a whole new age for Marvel Comics. Heroes became more street-level, relatable, and realistic. They had real-world problems, they used slang, and they all lived in a huge, interconnected universe.

Still going stronger than ever, Marvel continues to tell some of the most amazing, astonishing, and incredible stories in all of comics and film.
